Character Description	He is the cruel school master of Dotheboys Hall, where he boards unwanted boys. He is a short, one eyed man with half his face being wrinkled and puckered up. He is approximately 52 years old with a harsh voice and a coarse manner. He constantly beats and starves his pupils, using them as free labor around his school. After he is beaten by Nicholas, he conspires with Ralph Nickleby to falsify Smike's parentage and attempts to hide the will of Madeline Bray's grandfather. He is arrested and transported to Australia for his crime

Book Description	Nicholas Nickleby, Dickens' third novel, is about social injustice in England. Nicholas Nickleby's father dies and the family, Nicholas, sister Kate, and their mother, are forced to move to London to ask for assistance from their Uncle Ralph Nickleby. Uncle Ralph does not want to assist the family, but he finds a low paying job for Nicholas and puts the family up at various places, including one of his London slum houses. He also finds employment for Kate and because she is attractive, invites her to a dinner party where some of the guests try to take advantage of her. When the uncle intervenes, these guests are insulted and attempt to find Kate, but Nicholas overhears their conversation and successfully stops them. Nicholas falls in love with a penniless girl who works in an employment office and eventually marries her. Uncle Ralph commits suicide when he finds out that his only son died as the best friend of his enemy. Nicholas becomes a partner in a firm and the whole family, including their extended family, move back to Devonshire and live happily ever after
