Dedlock
over
a
right-of-way
issue

House
was the
ninth
novel
written
by
Charles
Dickens
. He
worked
on
it
from
November
1851
to
August
1853
.
It
was
originally
published
in
20
monthly
installments
between
March
1852
and
September
1853
and
is
considered
to be
one
of his
best
novels
. The
story
is
told
partly
by a
narrator
and
partly
by the
character
named
Esther
Summerson
. The
story
involves
many
minor
characters
and
sub-plots
full
of
secrets
and
mystery
which
all
evolve
around
the
central
plot
which
is
a
prolonged
court
case
known
as
Jarndyce
and
Jarndyce
that
is
being
litigated
in
England's
Court
of
Chancery
. This
case
concerns
the
distribution
of an
estate
and was
caused
by a
testator
who
made
several
wills
that
bequeathed
money
and
land
surrounding
the
Manor
of
Marr
in
South
Yorkshire
.
